We are beginning a new art movement -- called, appropriately, the Millennial Renaissance.
Science and technology have made tremendous advances in computers and imaging that, in turn, have given birth to new mediums for artists to use for expressing themselves. Because of this movement, issues of universality in art and science have evolved on a global scale, as the World Wide Web widens possibilities for the exchange of information, ideas, and images.
In this way, the Millennial Renaissance parallels the Italian High Renaissance, bringing the cultural pathfinders of our society to higher ground. Reacting against the despair of Arte Povera and Ugly Art, Millennial Renaissance artists focus on aesthetics by creating images that glorify beauty, nature, and wildlife with the goal of preserving the integrity of indigenous peoples, cultures, and the environment. This aspiration, this ideal is the heart of the movement.
